Topic 1 – Autonomous robots – are a particular species of smart systems. They embody intelligence and require decision making and associated logic, to operate autonomously in their environment and cooperation with humans. The decision making requires for robust autonomous robot behavior, for individual (ro)bots, working with humans as well for cooperating robots.
Topic 2 - Human-robot collaboration – allows for better working conditions of people and the involvement of less capable people in a variety of industrial and servicing processes. The collaboration requires the alignment of the human and the robot activities. Human activities should connect with, but also complement the planned robot actions. Because of the unpredictable nature of the environments where robot must act, the design of the robot behavior should allow for flexibility in planning and re-planning of its activities.
